My story

It started with a camera. Photography taught me how to see — how to compose light, patience and story into something a stranger could feel. That instinct grew into film, into brand direction, into building teams and studios.

Somewhere along the way I stopped being a creator who ran a business and became an entrepreneur who creates. Yomi Visuals gave me standards. Running it gave me the harder education: a business that depends on one person isn't a business, it's a job with better lighting.

So I rebuilt the way I work — documenting before delegating, designing operations instead of heroics. That work became TRYSA, an operating system for creative businesses, and then a habit: every problem I lived through became a company built to remove it for someone else.

Today those companies sit under ONARU onaru exists to build, acquire and scale companies that solve meaningful problems.

Philosophy

"We build systems that outlive us."

Build enduring companies that improve how people create, work, learn and live.

Core principles

How I make decisions.

Systems over heroics

If it only works when I'm in the room, it isn't a business yet.

Solve real problems

Ideas are cheap. Problems people pay to remove are not.

Build in public

Honest documentation compounds faster than marketing.

Excellence is a habit

Standards are set in the small, unwitnessed decisions.

Stewardship

What I run is not mine to waste — people, money, or time.

Long-term greedy

Choose the option that still looks smart in ten years.

Current companies

What I'm building right now.

Failures

What went wrong first.

Every system I teach exists because I got it badly wrong before I got it right.

Lesson 1
I was the bottleneck

For years every decision routed through me. Growth stopped exactly where my calendar ended.

Lesson 2
I hired for relief, not for role

Hiring in panic produced people with no clear scorecard — and I blamed them for my lack of clarity.

Lesson 3
I priced from fear

I undercharged for work that was already premium, then resented the clients I had trained to expect it.

Lesson 4
I confused motion with progress

Busy quarters that moved no meaningful number. Now I pick one number per quarter.

Lessons

Things I now know for certain.

01Document before you delegate.
02A process nobody can read is a rumour.
03Cash flow is a strategy, not an accident.
04Culture is what you tolerate on a bad week.
05Say no early; it's kinder than a late yes.
06The best operators are boringly consistent.
Manifesto
I believe creative people deserve better businesses.
Better systems.
Better infrastructure.
I'm building it.

Faith

Stewardship, not ownership.

I'm a Christian, and it shapes how I run things more than how I talk. What I hold — people, money, time, influence — isn't mine to waste. That belief makes me slower to promise, quicker to pay, and far more patient about compounding than about applause.

Leadership

Clarity is kindness.

I lead by writing things down: the standard, the scorecard, the decision and the reason behind it. People don't need a hero at the front of the room — they need a system they can trust and a leader who says the hard thing early.

Reach

Working from Africa. Building for the world.

Lagos and Accra are home. The rest of the map is the road ahead.
